DTI BUKIDNON, DEPED-VALENCIA PARTNER TO INTEGRATE CONSUMER EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS
THE DEPARTMENT of Trade and Industry-Bukidnon and the Department of Education-Valencia have joined forces to integrate consumer education into school curriculums.
DTI Bukidnon Provincial Director Famelah Racquel Villanueva and DepEd Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Jesnar Dems Torres Jr. led the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement on September 6, which marks the start of the Consumer Education and Advocacy Program for the 2024 school year.
According to the DTI, the MOA seeks to empower students by promoting consumer rights and responsibilities, providing them with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions in the marketplace.
The program will be incorporated into the Araling Panlipunan curriculum for Grades 9 and 10, with DTI conducting learning sessions on consumer rights and responsibilities.
Meanwhile, DepEd-Valencia will provide a list of schools in the city where the consumer education sessions will take place.
