DSSC, DEPED PARTNERED FOR LAUNCH OF ‘TULONG-TURO’ PROGRAM

/ 25 April 2021

THE DEPARTMENT of Education Division of Davao del Sur and the Davao del Sur State College inked a Memorandum of Agreement recently for the implementation of its ‘Tulong-turo’ program.

The program aims to utilize students of DSSC to teach students on a house-to-house basis.

To comply with minimum health standards, the student-tutor will be assigned to the area where he or she resides.

“We are happy for this opportunity to be partnering with DepEd to engage in extension programs for our children who are affected with the new normal of the education system that we have. It compliments with the need of DepEd, actually, since we are both molding students to become products for the human resource community in the future,” said DSSC President Augie Fuentes in the DepEd Davao Del Sur website.

“Our college students are also mandated to implement the extension project.”

“This is a unique modality in this pandemic. We thought about what strategies we can do together so that children can really proceed with their schooling so that no one will be left behind. We will be working with you from time to time,” she added.

DepEd added the project is based on DSSC’s ‘Adopt-a-Learner Project’.
