THE DAVAO Oriental State College of Science and Technology and the City Tourism Council of Mati recently signed a memorandum of understanding for capacity-building.

DOSCST said the two parties earlier met for an initial dialogue to provide researches to help the city.

“This partnership comes just after last week’s initial dialogue that prompted an official institutionalized agreement that gives DOSCST a platform for capacity-building,” DOSCST said on Facebook.

“As an academic institution, DOSCST’s role in tourism focuses on providing relevant research- based information on marine conservation, environmental protection, and hospitality management as well as recommending initiatives to ensure sustainable and inclusive tourism,” it added.

Representatives from both parties were present at the MOU signing.

The two parties also collaborated in developing a gender and development academy to assist villages in their gender mainstreaming efforts.
