DOH CALABARZON BACKS ESTABLISHMENT OF CAVITE STATE U COLLEGE OF MEDICINE
THE DEPARTMENT of Health in Region IV-A threw its support behind the Cavite State University as the school prepares to establish a College of Medicine in August this year.
DoH Regional Director Eduardo Janairo said that medical schools are very important in sustaining human resources.
“Doctors are necessities, they should not be demanded. They should be present always,” he said.
Janairo expressed confidence that the establishment of a College of Medicine in CvSU will help fill in the gaps in human resource particularly those providing medical services for the 16.4 million people in the region.
Dr. Hernando Robles, CvSU president, said that the institution is keen on mobilizing resources to establish a Level III base hospital in the soonest time possible.
“The CvSU College of Medicine aims to produce medical pluralist graduates with diverse knowledge and skills in providing health care to the community as well as professional physicians and ethical researchers with deep sense of duty and service,” Robles said.
Dr. Nelson Soriano, Cavite Provincial Health officer, said including public or community health in the curriculum will better equip students in their medical field.
