THE DEPARTMENT of Information and Communications Technology said it has restored the connectivity of the Free WiFi for All stations in Catanduanes which were damaged by Super Ty-phoon Rolly.

WiFi connectivity was restored in the Provincial Capitol, Viga Town Hall, Viga Rural Develop-ment High School, Pandan Rural Health Unit, Caramoran Rural Health Unit, Viga District Hospi-tal, Pandan District Hospital, Juan M. Alberto Memorial Hospital, Gigmoto District Hospital and Catanduanes State University Panganiban Campus.

The DICT said that the restoration of connectivity in Catanduanes will help people access im-portant information like news, relief and recovery efforts and status of neighboring municipalities.

The department is racing to restore connectivity in all WiFi sites in the Bicol region.

So far, it has restored internet in 155 sites — 18 in Albay, six in Camarines Norte, 17 in Cama-rines Sur, two in Masbate and 108 in Sorsogon.

In a statement, DICT Secretary Gregorio Honasan said that his department will also restore con-nections in areas affected by  Typhoon Ulysses.
