THE DEPARTMENT of Information and Communications Technology installed several free WiFi access points in Bacolod City in Negros Occidental and in the municipality of Maigo in Lanao del Norte province.

Free internet access points were installed at the Bacolod Central Elementary School,

Bacolod Municipal Hall, Bacolod Municipal Plaza, Bacolod Municipal Police Station and in the city’s Rural Health Unit.

In Maigo, free internet is now available at the town hall, municipal plaza, Rural Health Unit and the Mindanao State University – Maigo School of Arts and Trades.

DICT Secretary Gregorio Honasan II said the agency continues to ramp up its deployment of Free WiFi sites in various localities as part of its Free WiFi for All program.

“Thanks to the relentless efforts of our regional clusters and the continued support of local government units across the country,” Honasan said.

As of April 28, the program had established 8,851 sites in 1,109 localities and 80 provinces.
