DEPED SOUTH COTOBATO EYES BLENDED LEARNING

/ 31 May 2021

THE DEPARTMENT of Education in South Cotabato is considering using various learning modalities in schools where face-to-face classes will be held once the government allows it.

Division Superintendent Ruth Estacio said officials plan to implement a blended learning modality or the combination of in-person classes and modular method.

“The schools are ready in case the national government will allow the pilot classes to start. The division, which supervises schools in 10 municipalities of South Cotabato, has identified 12 schools as pilot sites for the face-to-face classes,” Estacio said.

These schools are located in areas in Lake Sebu and Tboli towns that have zero cases of Covid19.

Estacio said only 12 learners will be allowed in one classroom to comply with the minimum health standards.

“Schools are mandated to properly implement the preventive measures protocols against Covid19 such as the mandatory wearing of face mask and face shield, regular handwashing and the observance of one-meter physical distancing,” she said.
