THE DEPARTMENT of Education in Region 12 is preparing five schools for the limited in-person classes that will start on November 15.

DepEd-Region 12 Director Carlito Rocafort said that 24 schools applied but only five were chosen.

“As of now, we are getting ready and we will be opening the face-to-face classes in the five schools but on a limited basis,” Rocafort said.

The selected schools are the Bato Elementary School in Makilala; Paco National High School in Kidapawan City, North Cotabato; Ned National High School in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato; Nelmida Elementary School in Koronadal City and Aspang Elementary School in General Santos City.

Classes will be limited and only for Kinder to Grade 3 in elementary and Grade 11 and 12 in senior high school.

Rocafort said that the two age groups have higher immunity against Covid19, based on the studies of the World Health Organization.

“This is a limited undertaking. We will be on the pilot mode and the participating learners are only those permitted by their parents,” he said.
