DEPED ROLLS OUT E-LEARNING TRAINING PROGRAM
THE DEPARTMENT of Education Region IV-A CALABARZON launched a program to assist teachers and students on e-learning.
Help Educators Rise to Online Education 2021 is an online rapid leadership and training program that utilizes the Thames’ experiential and technology-enabled model of learning. It is a quick response training program for Filipino teachers for their upskilling requirements in the online set-up for school year 2020-2021.
“We will continue developing ways by which such creative ways will enhance the role of teachers [and technology] in implementing DepEd programs and initiatives,” Education Secretary Leonor Briones said.
DepEd Region IV-A Regional Director Wilfredo Cabral said that the region also has a basic education contextualized learning continuity plan — Pivot 4A QuBE which focuses on efficiency, excellence, and empowerment.
“So we would like to empower teachers to do more inside the classroom, to of course make their classrooms a center of excellence and efficiency with at some point saying we can do things better,” Cabral said.
In partnership with Thames International, Akadasia, EduRescue School For Teachers, UnionBank, and City Savings Bank, the initiative aims to enhance Philippine education for 2021.
“Kailangan po kasi lahat pare-pareho tayo wala pong iwanan. Dapat lahat po tayo nasa highest standard. At ayan po ang aim natin with CALABARZON,” Thames Co-founder and President Joel Santos said.
Meanwhile, Akadasia Co-Founder and CEO Neelesh Bhatia explained that the engagement is significant in an online and blended approach since teachers need to design engaging lessons for students.
