DEPED-PANGASINAN SUSPENDS F2F CLASSES
THE DEPARTMENT of Education’s Schools Division of Pangasinan II suspended face-to-face classes from April 24 to 29 due to the extreme heat.
Students will temporarily shift to modular distance learning.
Schools Division Superintendent Lorna Bugayong said that there is a need to protect the students from the searing heat.
“The summer heat has been bringing inconveniences and risks to both the learners and the teachers the past weeks and with the affirmation of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration last March 21, 2023 that warmer temperatures are expected as the warm and dry season begins, there is a felt need protect the well-being of the learners and the teachers from the extremely high temperatures,” she said in a memorandum.
All public school heads were directed to implement modular learning and inform parents and the community about the development.
Private school heads have the option to implement the DepEd order.
The Deped-Central Office earlier said that school heads may suspend or cancel face-to-face classes if warranted because of the rising temperatures.
