/ 5 April 2023

THE Department of Education and the Philippine Army’s 15th Infantry Battalion collaborated for the holding of a 10-day work immersion program for three secondary schools in Negros Occidental.

A total of 259 Grade 12 Senior High School students who specialize in humanities and social sciences, including 116 students from Guiljungan National High School, 111 students from Tuyom National High School, and 32 students from Galicia National High School chose the Philippine Army for their work immersion.

The program aims to give students a first-hand look at the field of work in their senior high school of choice.

The teachers from the participating schools expressed their gratitude to 15IB for accepting their request.

They are hopeful that the 10-day training program will result in insightful reflections and experiences that will motivate participants to pursue their dreams with passion, determination and hope.

Lt. Col. Michael Cuarteros, 15IB Commanding Officer, welcomed the students along with their teachers to the Home of the Molave Warriors.

“Many are called, but few are chosen, you are one of the few to be here so take full advantage of the opportunity given to you and enjoy your stay while absorbing all the knowledge and learnings shared by this unit as it will greatly help you to become a better person,” Cuarteros said.
