THE DEPARTMENT of Education said that no Covid19 cases among students have been recorded in Central Visayas almost a month after the start of the school year.

DepEd-7 Director Salustiano Jimenez said that students were eager to go to school after two years of distance learning due to the pandemic.

Jimenez advised parents to keep their children at home if they experience any Covid-related symptoms, such as cough, cold or fever.

He asked the teachers to continually keep an eye on the health of their students and follow health protocols such as handwashing and wearing face masks, especially in the classrooms.

The official was hopeful that attendance will improve until the school year ends.

Reports earlier said that several teachers and students tested positive for Covid19 but no details were given as these cases were being investigated.
