DEPED BICOL LAUNCHES DISASTER RESILIENCE TRAINING PROGRAM
THE DEPARTMENT of Education’s office in Bicol launched the Batang Empowered and Resilient Team training program on Wednesday.
The program, in collaboration with Save the Children Foundation, aims to empower and equip children with essential knowledge and skills to effectively respond to disasters and emergencies.
It will help young learners identify potential risks and hazards, at home and in educational institutions, while teaching them appropriate actions to take before, during, and after a disaster.
DepEd Bicol Director Gilbert Sadsad led the launching with Assistant Regional Director Bebiano Sentillas and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Director Christian Rivero.
Sadsad thanked Save the Children for partnering with the department in this endeavor.
“The dedication and commitment shown by Save the Children in implementing this initiative have been commendable. Your vision of fostering resilience among our learners is crucial, especially in the face of various challenges they may encounter,” he said.
“By providing them with the necessary resources and opportunities, you are equipping them with the tools they need to overcome adversities and flourish,” Sadsad added.
