DEPED-ALAMINOS CITY INITIATES AGRICULTURAL PROJECT FOR STUDENTS
THE DEPARTMENT of Education office in Alaminos City encouraged students to plant vegetables through its Gulayan sa Paaralan Program.
The project, which supports the National Greening Program of the government,
aims to resolve malnutrition among students through a school-based feeding program.
Students are taught about agriculture and encouraged to plant vegetables in their backyards.
The local government of Alaminos led by Mayor Arth Bryan Celeste supported the project.
“Patuloy rin na pinapalakas ang implementasyon ng GPP upang mas patatagin ang ‘bayanihan’ sa paaralan para lalo pang mapalago ang mga gulayan at mapadami ang produksyon ng gulay sa lungsod na makakatulong upang masiguro ang kalusugan at tamang nutrisyon ng ating mga mag-aaral,” the local government said in a Facebook post.
GPP is an initiative of DepEd-Alaminos City Division led by Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Vivian Luz Pagatpatan in partnership with the city government.
Schools with the best implementation of the GPP will be recognized on May 19.
