DEPED-7: DON’T DISCRIMINATE VS UNVACCINATED STUDENTS
THE REGIONAL director of the Department of Education in Central Visayas said that schools and students must not discriminate against students who have not been vaccinated against Covid19.
“During classes, both can be treated equally, no discrimination. Vaccinated or unvaccinated learners can report to school regularly,” DepEd-7 Regional Director Salustiano Jimenez said.
The director issued the warning after receiving reports that some students have not been vaccinated.
Meanwhile, DepEd-7 said that at least 48 percent of the students attending face-to-face learning have been immunized.
Michael Poa, DepEd spokesperson, earlier said that there should be no discrimination against those who opted not to get Covid19 jabs.
“We have a non-discriminatory policy… Meaning for both teaching, non-teaching personnel, as well as our learners themselves,” he said.
