DAR, CENTRAL PH STATE UNIVERSITY INK PARTNERSHIP

/ 12 January 2021

TO REACH more agrarian reform beneficiaries and donors in the region, the Department of Agrarian Reform in Negros Occidental forged a partnership with the Central Philippine State University.

The partnership aims to boost the household income of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations in South Negros Occidental and to support the implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program through various collaborations.

In a press conference, Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer I Enrique Paderes said that DAR and CPSU have identified projects and programs which will be the focus of the partnership.

“We have decided to team up with CPSU to strengthen our information, education and communication strategies to reach a wider scope of agrarian reform beneficiaries and to encourage various sectors to continue providing support for the DAR to improve the implementation of CARP in Negros Occidental,” Paderes said.

Under the partnership, a radio program will be aired over CPSU’s Radyo Muscovado to help  disseminate information about the agency’s various support services, programs, and projects.

Other proposed collaborations include the formation of ARB,  Student’s Agraryo Trainers, Broadcasters Guild and Youth CARP Warriors.

Also included in the project is the conduct of non-academic activities to instill the importance of CARP and agriculture in the minds of students and youths.

The agency and the university will also partner in the drafting and launching of the training modules both for ARB and non-ARBs such as Agri-Tekno Komiks, Titulo Dos, and The Southern Echo.

CPSU President Dr. Aladino Moraca welcomed the DAR-CPSU partnership.

“This initiative is a welcome development for the institution, especially that CPSU is aiming to become a leading institution in local and global development through instruction, research, extension, and production with effective partnerships with other stakeholders,” Moraca said.

The official signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between the two agencies is scheduled on January 28.
