CLASSES SUSPENDED IN CAGAYAN AND ILOCOS
SEVERAL local government units in Northern Luzon suspended classes on Monday, October 17, because of the onslaught of Typhoon Neneng.
Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc suspended classes in the primary and secondary levels in both public and private schools.
“This is to avert potential dangers to our learners while our concerned agencies assess the extent of damage to public infrastructure caused by the heavy rainfall,” Manotoc said on Facebook.
Other LGUs that cancelled classes are Kapangan, Benguet, all levels: Abulug, Cagayan, all levels; Aparri, Cagayan, all levels; Ballesteros, Cagayan, preschool to senior high school; Buguey, Cagayan, all levels; Claveria, Cagayan, all levels and Sanchez Mira, Cagayan, all levels.artart
“Neneng” made landfall in Calayan Island, Cagayan early Sunday, October 16. The weather bureau placed most parts of Northern Luzon under Typhoon Signal Number 2.
