CITY COLLEGE OF DAVAO TO PRIORITIZE STUDENTS FROM LOW-INCOME FAMILY
THE CITY College of Davao is prioritizing students from low-income families once enrollment opens by June.
“Possible talaga they are working students, ALS (Alternative Learning System) graduates, LAP (Late Afternoon Program) graduates, IP(Indigenous People) learners, tapos merong certification dapat ang kanilang parents that they’re not earning more than P60,000,” CCD president Fred Cagape said.
Based on the feasibility research, CCD will offer the following courses, namely Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Bachelor of Mechanical Technology, and Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship.
If the school can meet the CHED standards, Cagape indicated it will add the courses of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science Education (Science and Math), and Bachelor of Elementary Education (Science and Math).
The CCD expects to enroll 1,000 students this June, with classes set to begin by August.
Meanwhile, the preparation of CCD, as well as compliance with the Commission on Higher Education regulations, is already 95 percent complete, according to Councilor Pilar Braga, chairperson of the Committee on Education, Science, and Technology.
“We’re just streamlining some of the requirements… Many challenges since this is the first time and the first opening so natural lang to, normal lang,” Braga said.
