CHED EXTENDS AUTONOMOUS STATUS OF UNIVERSITY OF BAGUIO
THE COMMISSION on Higher Education has extended the autonomous status of the University of Baguio for two years.
The commission in a memorandum said that the university’s status will be extended from June 1, 2021 to May 31, 2023.
UB was granted autonomous status by CHED on March 11, 2009.
“The University of Baguio’s constant placement and performance in board examinations; the competence of its administration, faculty, staff; and co- and extra-curricular standing and excellence of its students and alumni are among the telling factors that provide evidence to this prestigious status,” UB said on Facebook.
“Among the benefits of an institution with an Autonomous Status include freedom to launch new program offerings in the undergraduate and graduate levels and priority in the grant of subsidies and other financial assistance from CHED,” it added.
