THE CORDILLERA Administrative Region is beefing up its awareness campaign about the dangers of hazing and the implementation of the anti-hazing law.
CAR Commission on Higher Education Regional Director Dr. Demeterio P. Anduyan, Jr is leading the campaign in the region, echoing the sentiments of CHED Chair Prospero De Vera III.
“…this office reiterates the strict implementation of Republic Act No. 11053 or the Anti Hazing Law to remind to the Higher Educational Institutions of becoming more vigilant in this kind of unjst and inhumane activity,” Anduyan said.
“…help build a peaceful and harmonious culture in education. Our school should be a medium for instruction and learning, an avenue to promote healthy environment and not to pose any danger to our students,” he added.
The campaign was rolled out after the death of Adamson University student John Matthew Salilig because of hazing.
Salilig was killed and later ditched during an initiation rite last February after being reported missing for weeks.
