/ 23 May 2024

THE LOCAL government of Cainta, Rizal opened its door to out-of-school children and adults to finish schooling in basic education.

“Good opportunity to finish their education, that’s our Alternative Learning System,” Mayor Ellen Nieto said.

Nieto said the town’s ALS program is open for the elementary level (12 years old and above) and junior high school level (16 years old and above).

“Enroll now, just text the numbers listed below, and prepare the requirements,” she said.

“There are many ways, as long as you like it, and we will help you in Cainta,” the local chief executive added.

The local government has constructed the town’s ALS community center that serves as a learning hub for children and adults who have not finished elementary and high school.

Under the program, learners will be given different modules that suit their situation, which is not classroom-based or formal education.

The town’s alternative education was part of the training and skills acquisition in the livelihood programs launched by the local government.
