THE EDUCATION minister in the Bangsamoro Region in Muslim Mindanao admitted that payment of the salaries of teachers had been delayed because of the pandemic.

Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education Minister Mohagher Iqbal added that the transition from the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao to BARMM delayed programs and projects.

“This is not intentional,” Iqbal said.

“By 2021, we will have the budget, surely the salaries will no longer be delayed,” he added.

It was learned that teachers from divisions 1 and 2 of Maguindanao have not been paid their salaries since August.
