AURORA ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION GETS BOOST AS ASCOT, TANGGOL KALIKASAN INK PACT
THE Aurora State College of Technology inked a pact with the non-government organization Tanggol Kalikasan for environmental protection in the province.
The two parties will conduct the Environmental Justice Sector Reform Project in the province to reinforce their commitment to environmental preservation.
“Ngayong umaga, ipinaaabot namin ang aming intensyon na pangalagaan ang ating kalikasan. Kailangan natin ipagtanggol ang kalikasan. Sa mga estudyante na nandito ngayon, kayo ang mga stewards para protektahan ang ating kalikasan dito sa Aurora. Panatilihin nating maganda ang Aurora,” ASCOT President Dr. Renato G. Reyes said.
According to the university, the collaboration aims to protect Aurora’s natural resource, which spans 323,954 hectares of forestry and 49,991 hectares of agricultural land.
A memorandum of understanding was made between ASCOT and TK last Wednesday at ASCOT’s Angara Accreditation Hall.
Representatives from the Department of Interior and Local Government-Aurora were also present at the signing and vowed their support for the project.
“As you are providing this noble program to our community, DILG expresses its full support in your mission to provide avenues for environmental protection and in providing technical assistance and capacity development to our local government units. A big congratulations for the realization of this partnership,” said DILG-Aurora Provincial Director Ener P. Cambronero.
