/ 10 May 2023

ONE HUNDRED fifty youth leaders from different villages in Remedios T. Romualdez in Agusan del Norte vowed to help in the eradication of communist armed conflict by protecting their fellow youth from being recruited by terrorist groups.

The youth leaders recently attended the three-day Youth Leadership Summit organized by the 29th Infantry Battalion and the local government unit of Remedios T. Romualdez.

The summit aimed to develop the youth to become effective leaders, advocates of peace in their respective communities and mold their awareness on the important roles of the youth in nation-building.

It was also part of the long-term effort to end local communist armed conflict in the most vulnerable sectors of society and to protect the youth from Communist Terrorist Group recruitment.

Remedios Mayor Richard Daquipil said that it is important to educate the youth to keep them away from drugs and to protect them from leftist groups.

Meanwhile, Agusan del Norte Governor Maria Angelica Rosedell Amante said that training the youth is essential as they will be the leaders of tomorrow. She added that the provincial government is helping in providing trainings that will help guide the youth in their decision making.
