/ 15 July 2022

POOR students from the six clusters of the Special Geographic Area in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao received financial assistance through the Ministry of Social Services and Development’s Angat Bangsamoro: Kabataan Tungo sa Karunungan Program.

Of the 943 beneficiaries, 349 were from Pikit Cluster, 187 from Midsayap, 181 from Pigcawayan, 113 from Carmen, 87 from Kabacan and 26 from Aleosan.

The Abaka Program provides a one-time financial aid to poor students for school supplies, books, projects and internet subsidy, among others.

Each college student received P10,000, P1,500 for senior high school students and P1,000 for those in junior high.

The MSSD will also provide cash assistance to 277 more students in the coming days.

“Sana ‘yung ibinibigay na tulong ng (BARMM) government sa kanila ay gamitin nang maayos, huwag nilang gamitin kung saan-saan kasi para sa pag-aaral nila ito,” Haron Amer, SGA coordinator, said.

The MSSD aims to help 1,220 students under the Abaka program.

Interested applicants must submit any valid identification card; enrollment or assessment form from the school or certificate of registration or enrolment form; validated school ID; statement of account (for college or vocational technology students); barangay certificate and certificate of indigency.
