THE CITY government of Catbalogan in Samar distributed a one-time educational cash assistance to its senior high school students.

Each student received P1,000 under the city’s “Ayuda Eskwela” program.

The program benefited 2,572 Grade 11 and 1,876 Grade 12 students.

Mayor Dexter Uy said the assistance aims to help students in their distance learning expenses.

“This is part of our commitment to support the education of the youth. They could use the amount to buy things they would need for their learning,” Uy said.

The mayor said the aid was in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 4 which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong opportunities for all.
