THREE students were killed on the spot  when they were hit by a 10-wheeler truck in Placer, Masbate on Sunday, October 10, a police report said.

Christy Francisco,16, (Grade 11), Jelian Tamayo,13 (Grade 7), and Ferdalyn Cañete,10 (Grade 5) were working on their learning modules on the roadside in Barangay Matagangtang when the accident occurred at 3:45 p.m.

Jomar Tanael lost control of the steering wheel which caused the truck to swerve into the road’s shoulder and hit the victims, said Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, spokesperson of the Bicol Philippine National Police.

Tanael was placed under police custody.

He is facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide.

The Department of Education office in Bicol Region said that an investigation will be conducted.
