28 SCHOOLS IN BAGUIO CITY GEAR UP FOR F2F CLASSES

/ 15 March 2022

SOME 28 primary and secondary schools in Baguio City are preparing for the resumption of face-to-face classes, an education official said.

Of these, Gibraltar Elementary School and the Sto. Tomas Elementary School already started in-person classes on March 7, Mary Jane Malihod, Education Program Supervisor of the City Schools Division, said.

“Schools that are ready for the limited face-to-face classes might start holding classes within the next several days after the completion of the validation, simulation and orientation of the students who will be allowed to participate in the in-person classes,” she added.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong earlier said that consultations were held with the parents and the community to address the concerns of teachers on physical classes.

Based on the “Interim Guidelines on the Expansion of Limited Face-to-Face Classes” issued by DepEd, expansion schools must pass the standards of the School Safety Assessment Tool.

These schools should be in areas under Alert Levels 1 and 2; have obtained the clearance of their respective local government units; and written consent of parents.
