AT LEAST 156 public schools in Soccsksargen region have resumed face-to-face classes, the Department of Education said.

“As of now, we have that number but there is a probability that it would increase because of the application of schools from other areas and municipalities in the region that are now ready for the F2F classes,” Antonio Maganto Jr., Deped-12 spokesperson, said.

Maganto said almost 80 percent of the teachers in Soccsksargen are vaccinated against Covid19.

He added that only inoculated teachers may participate in physical classes.

“There are some teachers who are yet to get the shots. DepEd respects their view with regard to vaccination,” Maganto said.

The department said that 8,244 schools were nominated for inclusion in the progressive phase of limited in-person classes.

Of these, 7,893 are public schools and 208 are private.

It said that 6,122 learning institutions have resumed limited face-to-face classes as of March 10, 2022.
