ZAMBOANGA CITY’S SANTA BARBARA CENTRAL SCHOOL RECEIVES NEW TWO-STORY BUILDING
SANTA Barbara Central School in Zamboanga City has received a new two-story, four-classroom school building, benefiting over 3,000 students. The project was funded by SM Foundation and is the 109th school building the foundation has constructed.
School Principal Annalia dela Zerna-Martin noted that 99% of the school’s enrollees are Muslim students from surrounding barangays. The school also houses 18 additional teachers for the Madrassah Educational Program, which teaches Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education.
The new building is fully equipped with electric fans, toilets, washbasins, and specialized chairs for left-handed students. It also includes facilities for PWDs, a clinic, a mini-library, and a dedicated room for arts and music. The building also features a handwashing facility for students.
