SENATOR Alan Peter Cayetano has called on the Taguigeño youth to dream big and aspire for greatness for the City of Taguig, much like he and his peers did three decades ago.

“Dream big so that we can build Taguig together,” Cayetano said.

“Dream big, ating mga kabataan — ang ating kinabukasan, ang ating hope for the future,” he added.

Cayetano, who started in politics three decades ago as one of the youngest councilors in the country at age 21, reflected on the progress of Taguig over the past 30 years.

“Thirty years ago, hindi makapagcelebrate ng ganito ang Taguig. Itong ipinagdiriwang natin ngayon, ito y’ung vision namin ng mga kabatch ko. Kung ano ang Taguig ngayon, ito ang vision namin noon,” he said.

He urged the Taguig youth to seek divine guidance in their aspirations for the city.

“Tanungin natin si Lord, ‘What’s your vision for Taguig?’ Pero sana magkaisa tayong lahat,” he said.

Cayetano also cited the need for community partnership for issues like substance abuse and unemployment.

“Sa vision, bawat detalye dapat tulong tulong tayo. Halimbawa, sana dumating ang panahon na hindi na natin sasabihin na, ‘Huwag ka na magdroga!’ dahil kumpleto na ang sports, music, churches, schools natin sa lungsod,” he said.

“Sana dumating din ang time na hindi na natin sasabihan na, ‘Boss, ‘wag ka na tumambay’ dahil sa dami at gagandang trabaho sa Taguig. Hindi na rin kinakailangang mag-abroad,” he added.
