MUNTINLUPA City Mayor Ruffy Biazon challenged the city’s youth leaders to contribute in nation-building.

“Ang challenge ko sa youth leaders — how do we make the youth stand up, away from apathy and really contribute to the development of the city?” Biazon said during the Youth Leaders Capability and Development Training at the Museo ng Muntinlupa through the Youth Affairs and Sports Development Office.

“We also would want to see many leaders —including youth leaders — contributing to the greatness of Muntinlupa. We are counting on you to take up the challenge,” he added.

He lamented that the problem among the youth is apathy or their lack of concern for what is happening around them.

“Isa sa concerns natin ang apathy among the youth. Apathetic meaning walang pakialam. Mas common na term ay ‘wapakels’,” he said.

Biazon said something should be done to address this concern.

“Remember that leadership is not a title, but a responsibility,” he said.
