VICE President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio on Wednesday led the meeting with the Literacy Coordinating Council in which they have lengthily discussed the country’s plans to improve education literacy.

“Masaya ako dahil ito ang unang pagpupulong ng council ngayong taon kung saan nagkaroon tayo ng aktibong partisipasyon at diskusyon,” Duterte-Carpio said.

LCC is an attached agency under the Department of Education that serves as an advisory and coordinating body and provides direction to all activities and programs related to literacy.

Duterte-Carpio has expressed her gratitude to Prof. Flora Arellano, an outgoing member of LCC, for her contributions to the organization and DepEd.

Duterte-Carpio has also led the meeting with National Youth Commission National Advisory Council in which she emphasized the role of the organization in helping the Filipino children.
