VICE President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio has led the distribution of PagbaBAGo bags to the students of a Last Mile School in Aritao in Nueva Vizcaya which is under the Office of the Vice President.

During her visit to Ukaw Elementary School, Duterte-Carpio shared with the youth the importance of education, hard work, and determination to finish school being a key to achieving their dreams in life.

Despite challenges in going to the school as they had to cross rivers, the Vice President recognized the teachers for their dedication to teaching students.

“[L]ubos akong nagalak nang aking nakita ang dedikasyon ng ating mga guro at ang pagpupursigi ng ating mga kabataan upang pumasok sa paaralan kahit na malayo ang kanilang inuuwian. Isang patunay ng katatagan nating mga Pilipino,” she said.

According to the Department of Education, the Last Mile Schools Program aims to address the gaps in resources and facilities of schools that are in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.

DepEd will continue to work and strive to provide for the needs of the students to achieve their dreams
