UP LAW STUDENTS SHINE IN INT’L PRICE MEDIA LAW MOOT COURT TILT

LAW students from the University of the Philippines were the overall runner-up in the 11th Asia-Pacific Regional Rounds of the 2023-2024 Price Media Law Moot Court Competition.

The team was composed of Ma. Tanya Cielo V. Adiong, Maxine Mikaela S.D. Capili, Karl Jigo O. Tagorda, and Norelyn M. Villaruel.

They also finished with the Overall Best Memorial of the competition.

The students will be representing the Asia-Pacific Region and compete against teams from South Asia, Asia-Pacific, South East Europe, North East Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas in the International Rounds.

The group was mentored by Professor Michael Tui Jr. who served as coach, and Professor Rommel Casis, who served as faculty adviser.

Organized by the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights of Oxford University, the competition challenges students to engage in comparative research of legal standards at the national, regional, and international levels, and to develop their arguments in written and oral forms on cutting-edge questions in media and ICT law.
