UP LAW GRAD TOPS 2025 BAR EXAM

A GRADUATE of the University of the Philippines College of Law topped the 2025 Bar Examinations.

Jhenroniel Rhey Timola Sanchez emerged as the topnotcher with an overall rating of 92.70 percent.

Placing second was Spinel Albert Allauigan Declaro of the University of Santo Tomas–Manila, who scored 92.46 percent.

Completing the Top 10 passers were third placer Alaiza Agatep Adviento from University of Santo Tomas–Manila; fourth placer Angelica De Castro Mitra from De La Salle Lipa; fifth placer Marc Angelo Santos from University of Santo Tomas–Manila; sixth placers Jeowy Loyloy Ompad from University of San Jose-Recoletos and Enrico Gabriel Paguia from Ateneo de Manila University; seventh placer Johan Raphael Gata from University of Santo Tomas–Manila; eighth placer Marie Shantelle Sarmiento from the University of the Philippines; ninth placer Richmond Lucas from University of La Salette; and tenth placer Jusmin Teriann Yap, also from the University of the Philippines.

Other examinees who placed just outside the top 10 also posted notable scores, with several universities fielding multiple high-ranking passers—underscoring the competitive nature of this year’s examinations.

A total of 5,594 examinees passed the 2025 Bar Examinations, posting a passing rate of 48.98 percent.

The results were announced by Supreme Court Associate Justice Amy C. Lazaro-Javier, chairperson of the 2025 Bar Examinations, during the official release on January 7, 2026 at the Supreme Court Courtyard in Manila.

The oath-taking and roll-signing ceremonies for successful Bar examinees will be held on February 6, 2026 at the Philippine Arena.

The Bar examinations were conducted on September 7, 10, and 14, 2025 in 14 local testing centers nationwide.

In 2024, a total of 3,962 examinees passed the Bar exam, with a passing rate of 37.84 percent.
