TESDA WELCOMES TWO NEW DEPUTY DIRECTORS GENERAL
THE TECHNICAL Education and Skills Development Authority has welcomed Galo B. Glino III and Avelino D. Tolentino III as its new Deputy Directors General, with the rank of Undersecretary, following their appointment by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
TESDA Secretary Kiko Benitez expressed confidence in the newly appointed officials, emphasizing that their experience would greatly contribute to TESDA’s mission of producing a multi-skilled and globally competitive workforce.
“Their leadership will be instrumental in driving forward TESDA’s mission to transform lives through relevant, responsive, and future-ready skills training. We look forward to working together in strengthening TVET and ensuring it remains a key pillar of national development,” Benitez said.
When Secretary Benitez was appointed to TESDA, Glino served as the agency’s Chief of Staff and Acting Executive Director of the Information and Communications Technology Office.
Prior to his work in TESDA, Glino led the legislative team of then-Congressman Benitez in the Third District of Negros Occidental, contributing to the drafting of 20 laws covering education, housing, creative industries, and sustainable development.
Meanwhile, Tolentino, a lawyer and urban planner, previously served as Undersecretary at the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD). Before that, he was DHSUD’s Assistant Secretary overseeing its seven support services.
“I am confident that TESDA will reach new heights and deliver even greater impact with the addition of these two brilliant leaders,” Benitez added.
Deputy Directors General Glino and Tolentino are expected to lead key strategic initiatives aligned with TESDA’s reform agenda—advancing innovation, enhancing industry partnerships, and supporting lifelong learning for all Filipino workers.
The TESDA community congratulates Deputy Directors General Glino and Tolentino and extends its full support as they assume their new roles in service to the Filipino people.
