TESDA TO STRENGTHEN TVET PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION
TOP executives of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority nationwide convened through a three-day General Directorate Conference that seeks to further boost technical vocational education and training implementation in the country.
Last March 4-6, TESDA Director General Suharto Mangudadatu led the conduct of the agency’s 19th General Directorate Conference at the TESDA Auditorium in Taguig City.
With the theme “Building Momentum: Evaluating Progress and Successes for all Remaining Implementation in 2024,” the GDC aims to discuss the agency’s current performance and accomplishments, and policies and structures synchronized with the vision and initiatives of the present administration and TESDA leadership.
“The 19th GDC guides us to focus on the evaluation of our advancements and achievements during the current period and leverage positive developments to propel further successes and effectiveness towards the next quarters and beyond,” the TESDA chief emphasized.
Among the topics discussed during the three-day GDC were the agency’s scholarship implementation, the annual training calendars training institutions, and the recent sectoral meeting at the Malacañang Palace presided over by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.
The TESDA chief also shared that the President has ordered the integration of tech-voc training to all Senior High School tracks to improve employability and enhance workers’ competitiveness.
Further, the agency’s enhanced Sectoral TVET Engagement Network Guide Dashboard, a comprehensive TVET landscape analysis for effective oversight and governance, was also introduced.
The dashboard will be beneficial in the implementation of the agency’s scholarship program implementation, and ensure that there is a diverse program offering in all areas nationwide that is aligned with the priority sectors.
“Patuloy nating pag-ibayuhin at palakasin ang ating mga programa upang maabot ang mas maraming Pilipino at nang sa gayon ay maramdaman nila ang lingap na maaasahan,” Mangudadau said.
Meanwhile, the GDC also featured the oath-taking of 140 newly appointed and promoted TESDA officials and employees nationwide.
