TESDA ROLLS OUT BIOMETRIC REGISTRATION SYSTEM
THE TECHNICAL Education and Skills Development Authority is fully implementing the Biometric-Enabled Scholarship Registration System, making it easier for scholars and trainees to register.
Scholars need to create an account and proceed to the registration through bsrs.tesda.gov.ph using any smart device connected to the internet.
With their BSRS profile, one can enroll in the future without having to register again. Scholars can check where a particular training course is offered online.
Meanwhile, trainers will also have their own profiles where they can manage and check their class schedules and view the attendance sheet of their respective classes.
TESDA Secretary Isidro Lapeña said the biometric registration aims to secure the agency’s scholarship distribution through the automated authentication process of scholars’ information.
“Strengthening and protecting the integrity of our systems, especially on scholarship implementation has always been among my top priorities,” Lapeña said.
The TESDA chief added that the agency has been implementing programs to streamline and enhance the agency’s services particularly training delivery.
“One way to institute integrity in our systems and processes is by way of automation. Not only does automation improve an organization’s efficiency, but also prevents errors and manipulations caused by human intervention,” he said.
The pilot implementation of BSRS was done in five institutions in the National Capital Region and the Cordillera Administrative Region.
The BSRS is mandatory to all trainees who will enroll for the scholarship programs. All TESDA Technology Institutions and Technical Vocational Institutions which will implement scholarship programs are also required to adopt the BSRS.
