TESDA RESUMES ASSESSMENT FOR DOMESTIC WORK
THE TECHNICAL Education and Skills Development Authority has resumed the holding of competency assessment on Domestic Work NC II in areas under general community quarantine.
TESDA Director General Isidro Lapeña issued a memorandum last May 14 to regional, provincial and district directors and school administrators to facilitate the resumption of face-to-face training and assessment.
This was after President Rodrigo Duterte approved the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases to place Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Bulacan, and Rizal provinces under GCQ “with heightened restrictions” from May 15 to May 31.
“In light of the reclassification of these areas to GCQ, the face-to-face training and assessment in these areas are hereby authorized to resume subject to the relevant provisions, protocols, and arrangements,” Lapeña said.
“Allowing face-to-face classes and on assessment, particularly for Domestic Work NC II, will help outbound overseas Filipino workers to comply with their job requirements abroad,” he noted.
Lapeña earlier thanked the IATF-EID for allowing TESDA to conduct assessment in areas under the modified enhanced community quarantine.
He reminded all TESDA field offices and training institutions to comply with health and safety protocols as they resume training and assessment activities.
