/ 18 October 2025

THE TECHNICAL Education and Skills Development Authority, in partnership with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and BDO Foundation, is expanding its offerings of online financial literacy courses that equip Filipinos with money management skills.
The newly launched courses in the TESDA Online Program include Basics of Investing, Fraud and Scam Prevention, Financial Consumer Protection, Digital Financial Literacy, Personal Equity and Retirement Accoun, and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ Role in the Economy.
TESDA Secretary Kiko Benitez emphasized the importance of financial literacy in empowering Filipinos, and encouraged them to maximize the free learning opportunities offered in the TOP.
“TESDA Online Program has helped thousands of Filipinos in gaining financial know-how. With these new courses, they are primed to gain deeper knowledge on money management that can help them pursue bigger financial goals,” said Benetiz.
Basics of Investing introduces foundational strategies for building wealth; Fraud and Scam Prevention empowers participants to guard against deceptive schemes; and Financial Consumer Protection highlights consumer rights and mechanisms for redress.
Learners will also gain essential skills through the Digital Financial Literacy module, preparing them to navigate today’s digital financial landscape with confidence, and the PERA module, which provides practical guidance on retirement planning. Rounding out the list of new courses is the BSP’s Role in the Economy, which explains how the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ policies impact inflation, interest rates, and everyday financial decisions.
It can be recalled that in March 2023, a memorandum of agreement on the development of a free online financial literacy courses was signed among TESDA, BSP, and BDO Foundation. Under the said MOA, nine financial literacy modules shall be developed covering essential topics on financial planning, saving, budgeting, debt management, investments, financial scam prevention, and consumer protection.
As a result, the first set of financial literacy courses was launched in the TOP last October 2024, which included Financial Planning, Budget and Saving, and Debt Management.
These financial literacy modules are part of TESDA’s continuing effort to widen the reach of the TOP, which already offers hundreds of free online courses in partnership with industry and government institutions.
As of writing, there are 195 courses offered in the TESDA Online Program across various fields, including ICT, entrepreneurship, agriculture, tourism, health, and lifelong learning. All courses are free and self-paced, allowing learners to study anytime and anywhere.
