TESDA INKS PACT WITH GCASH TO EXPAND ACCESS TO DIGITAL LEARNING
THE TECHNICAL Education and Skills Development Authority has partnered with GCash to advance technical education, expand employment opportunities, and promote financial inclusion.
TESDA Director General Kiko Benitez and G-Xchange Inc. Vice President and Head of Innovations Leonardo Ferdinand Byron Perez signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance public access to the TESDA Online Program (TOP), the agency’s free learning platform offering courses in fields such as finance, information technology, tourism, and agriculture.
The agreement strengthens the connection between skills training and job placement, ensuring a more seamless transition for TESDA graduates. Through the partnership, learners can access industry-relevant courses and explore employment opportunities via GJobs, powered by PasaJob. By linking skills development to job accessibility, the collaboration aims to help Filipinos move efficiently from education to workforce readiness, supporting long-term career growth.
Benitez said the alliance underscores TESDA’s commitment to making technical education more accessible, especially for underserved and marginalized communities.
“Through this collaboration with GCash, we can reach more Filipinos and equip them with the industry-relevant skills and opportunities they need to succeed in today’s evolving job market,” the TESDA chief said.
As part of the agreement, TESDA and GCash will also conduct consultative meetings to explore how financial technology tools and innovations can enhance the TESDA Online Program and digital learning in general, leveraging GCash’s platform and wide user base.
This collaboration lays the groundwork for a strategic partnership focused on innovation, inclusion, and education.
