TESDA EXEC PRESSES TVET TRAINING CONFERENCES

/ 8 September 2022

TECHNICAL Education and Skills Development Authority Deputy Director General Aniceto Bertiz III said that the conduct of regular regional technical vocational education and training conferences will help the agency, its partners and stakeholders address key TVET issues.

Speaking during the Regional Technical Vocational Institutions Administrators’ Conference in Butuan City last August 12, Bertiz said the activity promotes an atmosphere conducive for discussion and dynamic exchange of issues and concerns related to TVET program delivery.

“We must be able to accurately anticipate the skills requirements of the industries and act accordingly to better prepare future workers. This will not only guarantee a steady supply of qualified workers but it will likewise help sustain economic activity,” Bertiz said.

He added that forums and other similar activities will allow the agency and its partners to effectively manage the TVET sector, equip TVET providers with the appropriate guidelines and policies, and meet the demands for quality services.

The TESDA director noted that despite the great challenges that TVET is facing, the country is definitely on the road to recovery from the disruptions brought by the Covid19 pandemic.

Bertiz also emphasized the important roles of TVIs as partners of TESDA in delivering high-quality and relevant tech-voc training to Filipinos and addressing problems such as skills-job mismatch and the changes being brought about by the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

“TESDA cannot do this alone. TESDA considers as its valuable partners all the training institutions, administrators, trainers, assessors, and support services workers among others. This is because they are the most important link to our primary customers.” he said.
