ISINUSULONG ni Senadora Imee Marcos ang pagtatayo ng Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Training and Assessment Center sa University of Southern Mindanao.

Sa Senate Bill 1639 o ang USM-Kabacan, Cotabato TESDA Training and Assessment Center Act, iginiit ni Marcos na kailangang matulungan ang mga estudyante ng unibersidad upang magkaroon sila ng tamang technical skills.

Sa kanyang explanatory note, sinabi ni Marcos na dapat suportahan ang mga estudyante na maging innovative citizen na tutulong din sa bansa.

Batay sa panukala, ang USM-Kabacan, Cotabato TESDA Training and Assessment Center ay magbigigay ng technical-vocation education and training programs sa mga estudyante, gayundin sa mga local resident mula sa mahihirap na pamilya at maging mga out-of-school youth kasama na ang persons with disabilities at indigenous people.

“The University-based Center shall offer training programs on relevant skills trade competencies, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurship activities needed to deliver the effective employment interventions that will hasten the development of the host area,” bahagi ng panukala ni Marcos.

Ang itatayong center ay magbibigay rin ng teacher’s training and curriculum design para sa mga secondary school na may technical-vocational livelihood track sa ilalim ng K to 12 Program.

“Education is a fundamental right of every Filipino. it plays a significant role in the growth and upliftment of lives,” pahayag pa ni Marcos sa kanyang explanatory note.
