TESDA BOOSTS TRAINING OF COMMUNITY COORDINATORS

/ 26 December 2020

TO UPSKILL its community coordinators, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority held a training program for personnel from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao early this month.

The National Zonal Congress for Community Training and Employment Coordinators aimed to boost the implementation of skills training programs in the country.

The three-day conference gathered CTECs from all over the country to enhance their skills and capabilities in implementing community-based training and enterprise development programs in their areas of jurisdiction.

The CTECs are employees of the local government units trained by TESDA as focal persons, and designated by the local chief executive, in implementing community-based training and enterprise development programs in the communities.

“The CTEC’s success in his job will result in another individual’s opportunity for a gainful livelihood and improvement,” TESDA chief Isidro Lapeña said.

“As partners of TESDA, it is proper to bring to their awareness the empowering opportunities that TESDA can provide them, opportunities that they can impart to their communities. Thus, it is important to provide them with the right information and skills development programs,” Lapeña added.

The CTECs were apprised of the directions and programs of TESDA, and were given guidance in the determination of training needs in the community.
