TEACHERS, OTHER ELECTION WORKERS COMMENDED FOR VITAL ROLE IN ENSURING DEMOCRATIC PROCESS
SENATOR Joel Villanueva stressed that among the winners in the midterm elections are teachers and other poll workers who played critical roles in the electoral process.
The senator acknowledged that, aside from teachers, police personnel, soldiers, the Comelec, members of the media, and volunteers were all instrumental in making the elections truly democratic.
“We thank our teachers for serving as vanguards of the ballots; our police and soldiers for maintaining peace and order; and volunteers, including health personnel, for attending to voters’ needs,” Villanueva said.
“We salute the Comelec for ensuring everything ran smoothly from Day One of the election period until the last vote was counted,” he added.
Villanueva also commended media practitioners for their swift and reliable reporting from the start of the campaign up to the announcement of results.
“We trust our poll body will remain steadfast as it deals with pending and upcoming protests and scrutinizes candidates’ spending reports,” he said.
“The Filipino people are grateful for your efficiency, professionalism, and sense of duty,” the senator concluded.
