TEACHERS, NON-TEACHING PERSONNEL IN F2F CLASSES SHOULD BE FULLY VACCINATED, SAYS DEPED
TEACHERS and non-teaching personnel who will participate in the pilot run of limited face-to-face classes are required to be vaccinated against Covid19, the Department of Education said on Monday.
TEACHERS and non-teaching personnel who will participate in the pilot run of limited face-to-face classes are required to be vaccinated against Covid19, the Department of Education said on Monday.
DepEd earlier announced that teachers below 65 years old who do not have comorbidities can join the pilot run whether they have been vaccinated or not.
Education Planning Service Director Roger Masapol clarified that teachers should be fully vaccinated and should be under 65 years old without comorbidities.
“We agreed all school personnel, teachers should be fully vaccinated when they participate in the pilot face-to-face,” Masapol said during a media briefing.
Meanwhile, Education Undersecretary Nepomuceno Malaluan said the department has an arrangement with the Department of Health and the National Vaccination Operations Center to give priority to pilot schools.
The vaccination rate in schools will be part of DepEd’s safety assessment during the conduct of in-person classes.
Last week, Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said the government will vaccinate teachers and school personnel now that a limited number of schools have been allowed to hold F2F classes.
Limited physical classes will be carried out in 100 public and 20 private schools. It will be conducted for two months and an expansion will depend on the result of the assessment.
