TEACHERS EXPRESS GRIEF OVER MODULE DESTRUCTION TREND
SEVERAL public and private school teachers on Friday aired their disappointment after the #PunitinAngModule gained traction on social media.
This came after teachers expressed their frustrations online as they saw their students joining the bandwagon of destroying the modules they produced.
“Napakawalang puso, walang galang na estudyante,” “Hindi magandang makita ang mga ganyang post sa wall ng FB,” “Nagpupuyat kami, overtime, nagkakasakit, nawawalan ng oras sa pamilya para sa modules na dapat ay maibigay sa inyo nang maayos sa kabila ng pandemic na ‘to,” “I’m speechless, disgusted,” were some of the sentiments the teachers have raised against the challenge.
Teachers are required by schools to craft modules to aid students without the means to participate in online classes as the country shifts to distant learning methods due to the threat of Covid19.
Several students also shared their displeasure with the trend as they noted the modules given to them should be taken care of and should be respected in honor of the teachers who made the learning materials.
“I don’t think this is a type of challenge or message that we encourage,” “Nakakalungkot na paggising mo sa umaga, ito ang bubungad na balita sa’yo,” “Mga nakikisabay na lang sa uso nang hindi iniisip ang pagsisikap ng mga guro para ma-print mga modules nila,” were some of the sentiments the students aired regarding the matter.
Meanwhile, classes for basic education curriculum in public schools are set to reopen on October 5, while some of their private schools have already reopened classes for the school year 2020-2021.
