PUBLIC school teachers and non-teaching personnel nationwide will receive their performance- based bonus for 2020, the Department of Education said.

The department gave the assurance after the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Harmonization of National Government Performance Monitoring, Information and Reporting Systems finished its assessment of agencies eligible for the annual incentive.

Budget Undersecretary Kim Robert De Leon said that the DepEd was compliant in 14 of the 15 applicable indicators for the 2020 performance-based bonus.

“Since the start of PBB implementation in 2012, this is the first time that DepEd got almost a 100 percent compliance in all of the PBB indicators,” Undersecretary Wilfredo Cabral said.

“DepEd is ensuring that it will continue its process improvement through the institutionalization of the National Quality Management System to meet the eligibility indicators for PBB 2021,” Cabral added.

With such high compliance, the DepEd said that the DBM will facilitate the release of the bonuses. The school-based personnel will be the first to receive their bonuses, followed by those in school division offices, regional offices, and the Central Office.

“We have consistently introduced reforms in our processes to help our employees provide better services to our stakeholders. I thank the whole DepEd family for contributing to these reforms and to our goal of improving our performance amidst challenging times,” Education Secretary Leonor Briones said.

“We hope to continue this culture of excellence in the Department as we strengthen our programs and projects for basic education,” Briones added.
