THE TEACHERS’ Dignity Coalition said at least one teacher has been compensated following the online bank transfer fraud involving payroll accounts at the Land Bank of the Philippines.

According to TDC chairperson Benjo Basas, one out of 70 cases filed to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) earned P300,000 in compensation for lost funds due to unauthorized purchases.

Earlier, the group noted over 100 instructors lost money due to illegal transactions in their Land Bank accounts

Other victims’ compensation is still being investigated, according to Basas.

However, he said some of the victims would no longer receive their compensation.

Basas said the organization is not giving up and is just awaiting the NBI’s recommendation.

He added the group intends to initiate an administrative lawsuit against Land Bank for alleged negligence.
